aftermarket sway bars
i searched this but wasnt able to find the exact answers i was looking for.
first, what is the diameter of the ST front sway bar? i know the rear is 22mm but what about the front?
and second, im looking for a front swaybar in the 19-22mm size (solid). is there anyone that makes a front sway bar in this size? would there be any issue with mixing brands for front and rear sways? i know the answer is probably no but i just wanted to ask anyway.
all this is for a 91 crx si specifically. any pics of the ST bars would be very helpful too.

I thought that the stock si front sway was 19mm solid. ???
Of course there's no issue mixing brands. A popular thing to do with autocrossers is to use a 22mm solid rear sway on full stiff and swap the stock si front sway for a dx model because the dx have hollow front sways. This provides maximum oversteer.....
of course, correct me if I'm wrong

i believe the front sway is only lik 17.8mm ~ 18mm. since ill be going to a 22 rear sway i really dont want less then 19-20 for the front.
and i dont autocross so im not going for maximum oversteer. i just want a nice solid handling daily driver.

the ST front is what you want
im using both F&R on the street
its perfect.. balanced
i think its 21mm F & 22mm but i could be wrong.. its been awhile.. if u google it u will find the specs..
dont know if this helps but heres a pic of mine with custom front mounts.. i ordered what were supposedly the stock ones but they were bullshit. i dont know if they sent me the wrong part or what.

Front and rear are both 22mm, tanabe makes a 25mm (rear i think) but they don't have the matching size for the other end of the car. if they do i haven't been able to find it
I run the rear ST sway, on full stiff. OEM Si front. GC coils with 400/500 rates, koni yellows on full soft front and full stiff rear for autocross.....still not enough oversteer.
On the street, I use 3/7 front and 4/7 rear adjustment on the konis, there's no chance of spinning out.

Im running the Stock DA front and rear sway bars on my Si. Noticable difference. The front basically bolts up with use of some the DA brackets. The rears you have to do a little welding to fab up the mounting locations.
DA front swaybar is 22m and hollow. ST front sway bar is indeed 22mm and solid.
it is the HF bar, not DX, that is 17.3mm and hollow. i reckon the DX and Si bar (theyre the same) which is 17.6mm is hollow as well.
whether its hollow or not doesnt matter significantly about stiffness, since torsional stiffness is a factor of r^2, so the inner material isnt as significant, but still is meaningful. the benefit is lighterweight, less material, for almost as much stiffness.

I don't know why suspension Techniques sells those thick front sway bars. You do not want a 22mm sway bar in the front your car is going to understeer even more then it does now. Try a Hf bar before you dish out $70-100 for the ST bar.
SLYPEST, get rid of that Si front bar and get a HF front bar it is like night and day difference. That is probably why your car isn't rotating, even try without the bar get a feel for it. I have basically the same setup as you and my hatch rotates very easily. It could also be your tire pressure but that is entire another topic.
I'm trying to sell my ST rear bar now if anyone is interested in it.

well if you consider understeering as your car not chasing its tail like a dog, then i guess i want understeer. im not gonna get just the front bar. im looking to get front AND rear. with both i hsould have a nice nuetral handling car.
btw how much you looking to get for the ST rear sway? pics? condition? application?

thanks for the links.
why they dont list it under Suspension>Anti-Roll kits/Sway bars>Honda>Civic/CRX is beyond me. thats the logical place to put it and where i looked.
