Default '97 USDM H22 into '96 Accord

Hi guys,
There's an Accord local to me that has an H22 in it, however it's not running right. The current owner said he couldn't find the right wiring when he got the swap completed, so he just wired in the stock Accord LX ecu. He said it ran, but it had a low rev limiter and no VTEC, and I'm assuming other issues. My question is this, will I need a harness or special wiring to get the newer H22 to work in the older Accord? Find a 97 prelude ECU? Or will it be more complex than that? I think I can get the car at a good price so I'd like to know what I'd be getting myself into. I'm new to anything outside of DA's when it comes to Hondas, so I'm not too familiar with engine designations ouside of B18's

So basically, what will I need to do to get it up and running correctly? Thanks for any help you can give me!
