Default Direct bolt on?

Hi

I am planning on buying a 1999 d16y8 from an civic ex. I want to put it into my 91 crx si. I would like to know if the engine and transmission will fit directly on my car. Do I need to do any modifications?

Feedback is greatly appreciated.

rywire.com. You will need to add vtec wiring if you want the vtec to work. Search for "d16y8". Make sure you search the archives.

Any D series engine will bolt right into your car. Any D series Transmission will bolt directly up to any D series engine. The wiring, and ECU are the things you'll most likely have to change. (depending on swap).

Will that particular engine and transmission set up bolt on directly to the 91 crx si. I want to buy the package and put it on, I dont want to have anything to do with changing transmissions, just want to buy and bolt on.

use the y8 with the crx trans. no mods use original mounts buy a vtec subharness from hasport. you can use your stock ecu with a vtec controller or get a pw0 or pr3 ecu or a zdyne.
hope that helps!

Sorry...forgot to add that. Any Hydro tranny wont work w/ our cars because we use a cable acuated tranny.

Good catch

The only two direct upgrades you can do, where you still use the same tranny, and not do any rewiring, are the SOHC and DOHC ZC engines.

Are there any mounts I can get so I can put the hydro tranny on the crx?
