heel to toe shifting
It is actually heel-toe downshifting... this is a driving art that takes alot of practice and skill.. used by roadracers it is used when setting up to enter a turn.. you press the brake with the ball of your right foot(toe)..press the clutch in with your left.. swing your heel over to the gas and give it a blip to raise the rev as you continue to brake and select the lower gear and let the clutch out at the top of the blip.. this should all be done in a fraction of a second and when done right the car will not jolt from the down shift therefore not upsetting the balance into the turn. give it a try on a straight road with no traffic before you try it in the turns, take it step by step.. when you get this down you can really start to push your car into the turns...
This also makes for smooth turns in normal every day driving. It's helpful to get some pedals such as Razo's so that the reach between the brake and throttle is reduced and for increased grip. Or maybe even if you have small feet? hehehe
After market pedals are a must.
During lunch today I was trying
to heel to toe shift and stock pedals
suck! theres no way you can possibly
heel to toe with them
