Piping Size

I have a 96 itr motor in a hatch and i jus picked up my magnaflow muffler for my custom exhaust setup what size pipes do you guys think would give me better performance 2.5 or 2.25?

bigger piping = better flow, go with the 2.5"

2.5, and the Magnaflows that I have heard are extremely quiet, maybe would run that fella without a resonator
