I would like to see if anyone can comfirm that the Super Street TUNER BASH in Daytona Beach, FL schduelled for March 18, 19 & 20 was cancelled yesterday??

 

yeah, it was cancelled. Heres the email I got.......

Dear Car Show Participants,

Nobody likes bad news, and we’ve got some in case you haven’t heard.
For the
last FIVE years we have invaded Daytona Beach with our Spring Break
Tuner Bash.
No more. Never again.

The city of Daytona informed us this week that our permits (along with
the
permits of many other spring break promoters) will not be approved this
year.
Yep, we are as mad as you are. Just like years’ past, we followed
every rule,
filed every permit. It isn’t Showoff Cafe’s / Mainstream Productions
fault.
It's not the Plaza's fault, or Super Street's either. It is the city
of
Daytona Beach; we did our best to find another venue close to the Plaza
Resort
and Spa but were denied permits for those locations as well. Daytona
Beach
doesn’t want Spring Breakers around anymore.

 

I guess Sport Compact fans money is'nt as good as the bikers money.

 

maybe we will see Phoenix now? I dunno

Spring Break in Phoenix--yeaaaaaaa. Phoenix is the hot bed of Spring Break activity...?? Phoenix is where the old and white trash go to "get away".

Work on the street is that all the Tuner Bash events are cancelled due to Primedia putting all focus (and $$) on the Hard Drive events.

 

Why are we hearing that they might cancel the Hard Drive events then?

From what I understand all the events that happenin Daytona ie bike week also will be cancelled.

So where will the next event be........maybe Orlando, Jacksonville.......it has to stay in Florida! We'll see!

 

**** this...i can't believe that for the past several years we haven't heard one complaint from Daytona but now all of a sudden Primedia is denied their permit? i find that hard to believe with all the $$ they have. I say we all saddle up anyway and hit Daytona Beach hard. I mean realllllly tear that city up yo. We need to really represent our scene, ladies and gentlemen. I kno for a fact my crew will be rolling out reppin. Look for 2 blue WRX's, a red GTI 1.8t, a red Integra/Civic conversion, and of course a black S2000. Come on guys, don't let those old bastards kick us out of their city.

 

This is the exact reason that Sport Compacts and thier followers get a bad rep everywhere. A few dumba**es ruin it for everyone.

Why all of the name calling? Are you insecure about something, is there something you need to tell all of us? You can share, Honda Tech is one big support group.

I would also like to apologize to all of the Honda Tech regulars, some people just have no clue on how to handle themselves on a public forum. I hate to know that a guy like this is involved in our industry.
