azenis or nt555R
What are you trying to do with the car?
By asking the 60 ft times, I'm guessing drag.
The Nittos will give you a much quicker 60ft time and more straightline grip.

i had the nt555's in 17x7 and was very pleased with them. awesome straight line and great cornering. the tread pattern was good in wet weather as well. so the 555r's could only be an improvement.

yea, i'm asking in regards to drag (straight line), but i want tires that feel good in the turn too. so i'm guess from the replies that the 555r's would be a better all around tire? it's seems to be proving itself on the straight line (better 60ft.) how's the turns in these tires? how do they feel in the rain? tread life?

:buzzer: wrong. the azenis is a superior tire for grip.

the 555 hands down.
as for who ever said the azenis is the superior tire as far as grip is concerned needs to ride on an actual "race" tire. i'm guess that you were talking about superior on road grip then the azenis would be a tied second place with the es100. funny how the majority of turbo honda guys i know will run nitto's 555 on the front because they have a hard time finding any other tire to hook up. guess they're all wrong though.

yay for selective reading! i clearly stated that the nitto is a better straight line tire, but seriously why try to go fast in a straight line in a fwd car? seems backwards... regardless, what I SAID IS the azenis is a better "left to right" (handling) tire than the es100 (note: no comparison made between the nitto and azenis as far as "superiority" goes), they are obviously two different beasts with two different functions. try reading harder next time.
i need to try riding on a race tire? :sigh:

the 555r is a superior tire in straight line and cornering in my opinion. however you seem to be looking for a daily driving tire judging by your treadwear comment. in that case i would go with the azenis or the es100. the 555r is not meant to be daily driven and wears exceptionally fast. i ran a set completely out within 3 months. if you are looking for an all around street tire then i would have to chose the azenis.

yea, i guess the azenis are the better choise here. i don't want something to run out of tread in like 3 months. these tires also need to be street tires. thanks for your knowledge guys. the more the merrier

For the people with experence with Azenis, how long do they 'usally' last as for daily driving. I was reading around and a few people say that they have really bad road noise after a few wear on the tires.
you drive a rattletrap econobox, who cares about noise? fwiw, my azenis were only noticeably "noisy" when they approched low tread. i have done 3 track weekends, 75 autox runs, and daily drove them for probably 10k miles, they still have enough tread to be daily driven in rain.
