Default no interior lights in my EJ8

ok, i have had this problem for almost a year now, and havent been able to figure it out. i hope some of you wonderful H-T guys can help me.

first off, i have a 98 civic EX coupe (EJ8).

let me give a little back story... a while ago, when i was a dumbass, i wired up some foglights and indiglos to my car. cool.... excpet i the power for the fogs to the itsy bitsy power wire for the interior lights (gauge cluster, climate control, that sorta stuff). now, i know this is quite possibly the stupidest thing EVER... i realize this now. i also realize not to listen to dumbass friends. so, i turn the fogs on, and blow the fuse. well, then dumbass friend says to put a higher rated fuse in. i do so, and everything is peachy... or so i thought

i few months later, i guess it got too hot, and **** started melting. i lost all interior lights, and fogs. i realize the err or my ways, and remove the foglights all together. i check out the wiring harness behind the cluster, and the red/blk power wire is melted. i can see the copper in many places. so, i replace the harness (which was a bitch, but not too hard). still nothing. now, this harness plug directly into the fuse box (and the main interior wiring harness). i dont see how the red/blk wire would go any farther than the fuse box.... but i am not 100%.

so, i've changed the harness, changed clusters (i now have a gsr cluster which works fine, just doesnt light up). i've checked fuses many many times. is there something i'm missing?

any help is greatly appreciated. feel free to IM me, DigitalRghtOfWay. thank you.

did you look at the interior lights fuse in the engine bay? how bout the backup fuse?

next time you wire up foglights use a relay kit man, things like that draw alot of current and a fuse cannot support it

i checked my fuses this morning and found that my primary interior fuse was blown. although i dont understand why it blew, i changed it. however, this didnt change anyting in my interior light problem.

i do not remember seeing any fuses for interior lights on the engine bay fusebox... i checked again this morning, but i forgot already it seems.
