Alright... this isnt anything about a TypeR but I read this forum alot and you seem to know a good deal about what your talkn about so.... I just got a b16 into my car like 3 weeks ago and i got a new clutch in at the same time... well right after i got my clutch broken in i didnt have any problems with anything ran great no problems anywhere.... well today i noticed that when shifting from high rpms in 2nd going into 3rd i have a small yet very annoying grind... it doesnt stop me from shifting its just one of those things that shouldnt be happening.. i have put Honda manual tranny fluid in the same tiem as the swap so i was wonder if anybody could help me out

I just got an ITR tranny and was experiencing exactly the same thing as you describe. It started a week or so after i had the tranny installed...worked beautifully before then. When it first started it would only grind when shifting hard from 2nd to 3rd but then it slowly started getting worse to the point where it would grind slightly when just shifting normally. I took it to my mechanic and he thought it might have to do with the tranny oil we used. We used some store brand synthetic tranny oil, which was rather expensive BTW. We drain it and put in some mobil1 and it hasn't grinded since. I'm just glad it wasn't the synchros...can't afford that right now.

Make sure the fluid level is good and that you dont have a leak.

its the synchro's my 00 Type R does that from time to time @ high RPMS everything is peaking - when your shifting the car isnt exactly designed around that high of an rpm change - and that happens took to an Acura tech thats what they said too. So do check your fluids and play safe.

If your b16a was not a straight drop in i.e. into a CR-X, maybe the shift linkage was not modified properly.
