Should i boost?
Sup guys, just picked up a 97 gsr with super low miles. 44,000 original mileage. Wondering if i should boost my car. Would it mess my motor up that bad in the long run ?
Only if you plan for the unexpected, have a built motor, have a lot of $$ + patience, or boost really low psi....then if your're not certain w/ any of these, then don't boost.

its all about the $$$ and how long u want the car to last. if you want it to last a good while then even if it is turbo'd u still have to drive it easy. if its not tuned right and u punch it every chance u get ur gonne be investing in a new motor or new car
As everyone has said, you can boost it at 7-8 psi and the engine will still last a long time.
However, it sounds like you need to learn a bit more about turbos before you go and boost your teg. It will save you ALOT of money in the engine. More than likely, it will save your engine.

It's not about PSI X number levels that draws the line in blowing up your motor or still keeping it safe.
It's proper turbo sizing and the resulting WHP or target goal you want.
EX: 250WHP on a T3 turbo @ 10-12 psi vs 250WHP on a T3/T4 turbo @ 6-8 psi.
The powerbands may slightly differ from each other, but in the end, they are both making roughly the same HP.
AND **** YES, boost your motor. Research first please.
