he got a truck to drive to school and such.

 

if i remember and was told correctly, the red tops are the older motors that came in fastbacks and coupes(after the ca18) until about...92? the black top came in the s14, and rps13 type x? who the hell knows, the black top also has variable valve timing i believe? haha who knows, i think i'm pulling all this **** out of my ***

you're right ray. red tops came in s13 sr20dets but later on the rps13, they had a black top version of the engine. this sr20det is from an s14 with variable valve timing, a bigger turbo (t28) and more hp. you can tell from the hump on the valve cover that it is an s14 sr20det.

this thing was a beater and that was the cleanest it was ever in its life. that is why the engine bay looks like that.
