i plan on turboing my ls and have a 3inch down pipe with a electic cut out and then have 3inch piping go all the way back to a stock type r muffler cutting the tail pipe off the stick muffler and replacing it with the 3 inch

 

If you have the cut out, why bother with anything behind it? Open it up when its time for a romp, and keep the rest stock looking and simple for when its closed. Keeps you sleeper-ish too.

 

it will b sleeperish but they wont know that i have the three inch piping connected to the type r muffler and the cut out so ur saying there is no need to have the 3 inch piping going all the way back just keep the stock piping with a 3inch down pipe and the cut out

 

im contelplating the same thing right now. I dont know if I should keep my stock cx exhaust when I put on my 3 inch cutout.. I dont think its gonna hurt anything

 

Having a larger diameter exhaust after the cut is not needed. Those downpipe/cutout combos are to save you the time and cost of modifying anything behind the cut out. Because when it is open, nothing after it matters.

 

i know nothing else matters when its open cause its like runnin it straight from the header but when its closed then what i want to have the stock type r muffler and b able to run it all the way thru
