2003 opinions, anyone have carfax?
I'm looking at buying my first car (graduating from Georgia Tech this spring) and since Hondas are practically a family tradition, I've been taking a close look at the 2003 Accord Coupe EX. I think the styling changes from the previous years look pretty great and I enjoyed my test drive at the dealership last weekend.
Any suggestions on things I should look for when purchasing a used one? Are there any parts that seem to wear faster than others or good tell-tail signs of problems? Another used Accord I was looking at a few weeks ago seemed to have a lot of visible rust on the brakes - needless to say I let that one go.
Also - anyone have a carfax account that would be really really generous and look up the VIN for me? I'd do it myself but $25 is a lot of money to a college kid.
Much appreciated . . . "1HGCM82653A011951"

Quite a few recalls to watch for on the '03's. If it is at a Honda dealer, they should be able to tell you if the recalls have been performed.
Brakes, airbags, transmission, to name a few. If you are covered by a warranty, you should be OK, but if you are over 36k, investigate a little harder before buying.
P.S. It's "tell-tale", not "tell-tail", college boy! Not an English major, huh?
