I found this Mugen front bumper on eBay. The thing is that it's fiberglass.

Would it be worth it to buy this one? Any opinions?
*edit* I know this should be in the Cosmetic/Appearance Forum but this was more Prelude related so I decided to put it in here. Mods feel free to move it if it's not Prelude related enough for you.

it all pends on how you are, I wouldn't because if you hit something BAMM!!!! there goes the bumper and your cash, but if your into the show thing and don't mind it go for it. I like the bumper myself........(stupid fiberglass)
Vack no, don't buy it if its $200 plus shipping and plus tax dont buy it. The fitment might be a little off and if you do hit something it will crack. But I would get one if I needed a replacement and ive seem them for like under $150.

agreed, someone on here has one, I've seen pics, but I can't remember who it is...that one is MONEY, but it's the only one I've ever seen and liked. Maybe it's the presentation in the pic that makes it undesirable.

Bumper is pretty shitass and undoubtedly the fit and finish is fourth rate.
However, I have no idea why everyone is against fiberglass. I've had my extremely well made Kaminari bumper (made better than most carbon hoods or lips, I gurantee it) on my car for almost 3 years now and not one problem. If your stupid enough to park by feel, then shame on you. Point is, a quality fiber glass piece is strong, light, not affected by changes in temperature and FAR easier to repair than any urethane piece.

This is something I don't understand either. When I had a CRX with a fiberglass bumper, I would occassionally hit it pulling out of a steep driveway or a speedbump, etc, never had any issues with breakage, or even cracking.

yeah... the bad part though is fitment. companies are always molding and remolding anything they can get their hands on.

True. I did have some fitment issues around the edges, right in front of the wheels, but I just had to trim some of it with a Dremmel to get it to fit perfect. The good thing about fiberglass, is it's not final. It can be cut or changed, and patched up if broken.

That has VERY little to do with quality. It's the process in which it's made and the molds from which it's formed that determine the look of the final product.
