She asked for a copy of my R KeY!!!
So I renting this room in a nice private house(NJ), now, the landlord (a middle age lady) asked me for a copy of my Driver's License, Security Card, Insurance Card, and A COPY OF Type R Key... (I will be park on their private assigned spot on her driveway)
Is she crazy? I asked her why she needs my Car key, she said in cases where u are in the hospital and ur car is in my driveway and I need to get it out if i am doing work. Then I freaking told her "TOW IT, I WILL PAY FOR IT"
By the way she also told me when we met, that she used to drive stick, and love it and was saying how nice my R looks...
With all the information i provided her, she could have my *** if she wanted to.. WTF. what you guys think?

I would imagine she's pretty hot 20 years ago.

If your car is blocking the drive/garage the request is not unreasonable. If you are away/sleep and it needs to be moved...
You need to give some more details about the parking situation and how the cars are placed.
I would rather have her move it than a meat head with a tow truck.

each car can get in and out without touching other cars... no need to move in any case.

Sine your caR is an 01 go to any lock smith and have key made that opens the doors but with out being chipped it can't start the car. But she can put it in N and roll it out of the way...
seriously.
but I would get some sort of an agreement on paper that she will never drive your car without your permission off the property. and have it notarized.

it not like he is leaving the bedroom door open so she can rail him with a strap-on in the middle of the night. it is just a car.
she trusts him with her dwelling... he could trust her with his car that will only be moved if needed. no joy rides or anything.

But he isnt asking her for a deposit or a copy of her house key. The point im getting at is, he pays rent there, he has given her everything she needs. Why should she need a car key.
Screw that. if they would need to move his car, He either should find someplace with better parking arrangements, or park on the street.

exactly. If you feel incomfortable. then dont sign the lease.
I have dealt with enuff landlords , and not one has ever asked me for a copy of my car keys. If they did, i would look somewhere else.

PHDTS!!!.
just give a locksmith a blank honda key and tell him to get creative with it and give that to her. if she complains to you that the key doesnt work without a legitimate reason for sticking it in your car thats ******* shady.

Just give her the damn key. Or you could even give her a key to your gym locker. Chances are she won't need to drive your car.
Do you think any self-respecting landlord want to be seen driving a childish car like we all drive.? Probably not.
Good luck with your new home
