Got my welder! Some pics of welder and welds.
Hey everyone thanks for the help with helping me choose the welder that would best suit my needs. I ended up going with the millermatic 135. I was going for the 175 but for at home it would be to much trouble for me to run the 220v. Im going to be welding thin stuff for the most part anyway. Well heres a pic of my setup. On the welds im using 75% argon and 25% carbon dioxide. I will be using the tri mix when I start welding ss. Any advice on my welds? -now let em go practice some more. man am I happy guys

I can't see the welds very well but from what i can see it looks as though you need to turn your speed down a little and turn your amperage up a little in order to get better penitration and flatten out your bead. Hope that helps a little. Jason

It's already been said to turn the heat down and crank the heat up but also you should try tilting the gun slightly so you're pushing the weld puddle. One of my customers is a weldor by trade and he showed me this trick. Improved my MIG welding by 100%.

I just picked up one of these nearly brand new, less than 50hrs. weld time on it everything but tank included .......$150.00, just gives you some perspective that there are deals to be had on good used equipment
no no dude, didn't mean to do that, its a great welder and quality costs money. I just got lucky with mine, dude had it in a storage room he was paying a couple hundred bucks a month for and he just wanted to get rid of it and some other things. I was in the right place at the right time is all.

stringers are fun, but try some thicker metal and start weaving im sure you will like that better!! its fun, good deal have fun
If the weld is like a sharp mountain, then turn up the heat (or dont use as much wire)
If the wled is llike a shallow puddle, turn down the heat (or add material appropriate for that heat range)
