tuning can get expensive ....... $75/hr dyno time plus the cost of a good tuner. In my area that is going to run you around $350. Have you already purchased the Hondata and chipped your new ecu. Since the type R came out in 97 after the change to the OBD2 ecu ........ you will need to get a replacement. Minimum cost for say a P23 and chip and OBD2 to OBD1 harness is like another $200. The cost of the Hondata is another $250 you are now looking at over $750 for a few extra hp. Where tuning comes in is engine safety. If you were going to turbo it or something a lot more radical then your basic bolt ons then I would highly recommend Hondata and professionally tuning it.

Your goal is realistic.
Good tuning is worth every penny.
A street tune will typically cost you $180-$240 here at King. A basic dyno session runs about $200 which includes our time and the dyno time. You can spend upwards of $1000 on a dyno session as well.
If the dyno is a non load bearing type (Dynojet) then I strongly reccomend that you have the Hondata installation and a street tune done before hitting the dyno.
Good luck!
