I just did a search and got some helpful advice but the only thing that I couldn't find is how ppl are installing them? The car is a crx and I want to lock up the front wheels for launching. Could anyone give some advise.
Thanks Gary.

What line lock kit did you use? Do you have to use two kits for four wheels? I might be interested in getting one because I can't use a staging brake for my daily driver and I'm too slow to drop the hand brake at the lights.

So you put the line lock right before the valve? Thanks.

Is there a difference of front or rear with those 2 lines? Like on older cars the front line off the master cylinder would be for the front brakes.
i guess this is my noobness, but what exactly is the point of using line locks to stage? I understand preloading the clutch, but seems it would be just as easy to just drop the e-brake....

A line lock is basically a hydraulic e brake and acts the same as a staging brake. And I don't really understand guys are pluming them either.
line lock works just like it sounds. Its a solenoid activated by a button. When you stage, you apply the brakes, and push your line lock button, which activates the solenoid which holds the pressure in the brake line, even if you release the brakes.
When staged, you can let go of your brakes, prelaod your axles, get ready for the launch and just release the button, in this case he is using line lock because a staging brake is illegal in the street class, where a staging brake is essentially the same thing, just a manuelly operated lever, instead of a electrically activated solenoid.
Hope this helps. I know you dont see this used often in FWD but it commonly used with RWD to lock the fronts, for burnouts and launches.

i've seen it used for RWD burnouts, but just the thought that, i pre-stage, then stage, then instantly hit the button to lock breaks, then get floor car to the 2-step, all the while pre-loading the cluthc, then looking for the light, droppin clutch/button....
seems like alot to do in the short amount of time....
good stuff though, something i had never even thought about.

pre-stage..push the brake and hold LL button (mines hooked to the 2 step aswell)..let go of the brake pedal..wait for other guy to stage..bring the car up on the 2 step jump the clutch a little to jump the car in to the staged area..let go of clutch and button at same time and your off!!
do any of you use it to do a burnout. my e-break dosent want to hold to well. my car pulls foward to fast before i get the tires heated up.

you can use it as you please, but you probly dragging the back wheels not spinning them from the lack of brake power.
Seen4ever, yeah it seems like alot, but its one less lever(ebrake) to hold during the stage and launch. To release a button i think its much faster.
