From readings, it appears that the S2000 projectors from the early years have a sharper cutoff. I would like to know what years have the sharper cutoff.

00-03 all the same, 04+ different

haven't been able to test em in person but i should be able to this weekend as i am hosting a mini mod day at my house

 

got another question about this. the HIDs in the 00-03 are not as blue as id like, but im not complaining, but if you put in the bulbs from the 04+ would it change the hue? or would they not fit?

 

bulbs would not change it. the light it from the bulb/projector combo

If you want something bluer, why don't you go with a 6000K bulb or something? You won't put down as much light on the ground, but you will get that blue color.

 

Actually MY00 has the most blue-ish/purple-ish out of all years. Right where the HID cut off is, is where you'll see the blue/purple shades more pronounced. I've been on the freeway with MY00, 03 and a 05 all behind me. And when they would go over bumps on the freeway I could see all of their lights flickering (sharp cutoff), but the MY00 was the only one that had such a pronounced light of blue/purple at cutoff. They all had stock bulbs. Take a good look next time.

 

I just took a passenger side 2k projector off a 04,same as the 00-03.Housing and shape of the head light is a little different but once you take it apart it is the same projector as 00-03

altering the suspension in any way will affect the rainbow effect as the car goes over bumps. The various model years had different spring rates and shock valving. Not different HID systems.
