I have a D16y8 engine. im trying to replace the oxygen sensor and i cant find where the first one is. i see that there is one right before the cat but i cant find the primary, os is that the primary before the cat?. any info would be helpful

 

The primary sticks out of exhaust header pipe. On my 97 D16Y8 it comes out at an angle just about at the middle of the radiator.

 

mine doesnt have one there:-/ the only one i can see is the one comming out at an angle right before the cat

 

The O2 sensor BEFORE the Catalytic Converter IS the primary O2 sensor.

alright thanks, i thought so, i just needed confirmation. i couldnt see anything before that one between the engine and the catexcept that one so i assumed it was the primary after thinkni about it a few seconds
