Default jdm b16 into 3rd gen.

i tried searching on multiple boards on this topic and still got a pretty vague answer. How efficient would a complete jdm b16 be in a 3rd gen integra? how much difference does that 10 lb. of torque make? ive heard starts with this setup are somewhat sluggish but once the motor is higher in the rpm's it pulls harder. any thoughts? would it just be better to save up the extra $1500 and buy the jdm gsr motor?

thanks in advance,

ryan

Agree with post above! You are going from decent torque to not so decent torque

*drool* but not exactly a straight forward swap anymore .... lol

I would advise against the B16 swap .... for the work and money the gains are BARELY noticeable.

b20 vtec is my vote, nice amount of torque and pulls hard throughout

I dunno, the HP is higher and so is the torque. Not to mention the tranny is geared better.. If your motor blows up or gets sloppy and you dont have a ton of cash, the B16 isnt a bad option. Its not as good as the b18c of course.
A lot of people dont like the idea and think that a b16 is too small to move a dc, but keep in mind honda put d15's in jdm DC's..

hey, 2nd gen's aren't much lighter than 3rd gen's, and if they can do the B16 thing, why can't we? i mean, i'm a proud supporter of LS power, but i've thought many times in the past (before putting aftermarket cams into my LS) about putting in a B16, since it's cheap and has some power. for that $1500 you could spend extra on a GS-R swap, what do you think you could put into a B16? B16 + $1500 has GOT to be better than a stock GS-R. if money isn't really a big factor, the GS-R is great because torque is a big big deal, but especially if that's $1500 you don't have now and won't have any time soon, the B16 may just well be your ticket. if you do have the extra $1500, and don't plan on trying to make the absolute most out of the engine [ever], then i say B16 + used jackson racing supercharger. if you plan on going all out, the GS-R is definitely your choice. you know what they say, "there is no replacement for displacement."
