13” Panasports on a GSR
I have a 97 GSR in Street Mod Autox. I would like to reduce the diameter of the wheels to shorten the gearing and get more rubber to the ground. We have a lot of smaller parking lots with low speeds we use for autocross.
I was thinking in the 7” to 8” wheel width range. I ran across a post a few months back that Panasports were the only 13” that can fit over GSR front calipers. Is this still correct?
I am kinda clueless on the exact sizing and offset for the Panasports. Any help would be appreciated. Also, is it worth going for the 13” wheels? Would 14’s be easier to fit and/or find tires?

since you're in street mod....
ditch the gsr brakes. put the 9.2" brakes from a 5th gen civic on there. suddenly your wheel options become much greater.
btw, daddio's DSP neon ran 23" tall tires. i asked him why he didn't go to the shorter 21" tire. "can't put the power down". 'nuff said.

I'm 95% sure regular Panasport UltraLites will NOT clear the GSR brakes.
I'm 100% sure the modular Panaports can be configured to clear the brakes in a 13" fitment.
And does a 13" tire give you enough rubber?

Panasport UltraLites do not fit.
Panasport 3 Peice do fit.
Lenso VPDs also fit.
If you are in street mod there are better ways of improving your gear ratios. Also you should be making enough power to not need the 13s.
Edit: Volk TE37 13x8 also fit.

Rota RB's fit as well, but they're heavier than most of the wheels mentioned so far. I bought a set after waiting MONTHS for my VPDs to arrive.

Christian, who'd be glad to trade you his 9.2" brakes and 13x9 Diamond wheels for your GSR brake stuff...

Thanks for all of your input.
Say we take the gear ratio question out of the picture and just look at how much tire I need on the pavement. I have adequate power (decently built B18C1), LSD and decent suspension mods to make the car tolerable on the street but fun on an autocross course. I have tried 225/15 on the front with small spacers and they rubbed a distracting amount.
In looking at the 13" equation, I should be able to move the offset out a bit and increase the wheel width so I am at least competitive with others in my area. Others in my class are running lots of rubber (mainly a guy in a wild supercharged Sirocco - those of you from Florida may have seen this car...).
Say I go for the Panasport three-piece, what width and offset would I need?

They have a 8 1/2" wide one with 5" backspacing that fits fine on my car. Hoosier Tom at I forget the name of his place knows what one works. I'll check on the name if no one else comes up with it. About $1200 for the set as I recall.
