Default Corrosion in engine compartment

I own a 2000 Honda Accord with a 4 Cyl. engine. Recently I noticed that there is some corrosion of parts in the engine compartment, steel screws have some red rust on them and Aluminum parts are covered with the white powdery stuf typical to Aluminum corrosion. In addition to that the Battery which is the original battery shows signs of "please replace me". I wonder if the corrosion problem is related to the battery or else what is causing it. BTW I do not live near the beach.
Thanks

It's normal for screws to get rusted over time. As for as the white stuff it could be from the battery. Where is it located? If it's near and around the battery then I would say that's fairly likely.
