Default ______s14 front end conversion on 2k SI______

Alright, before I begin, I'll go ahead and say that I have a pretty good idea at what kind of response I'm going to get from this forum (negative/thumbsdown).

Basically, I've owned my FBP 00 SI for a little over 2 years.

I have no desire to sell the car, as it's been good to me and hasn't given me any problems. Also, I'm just not ready to part with it right now.

Summer 2004, I had considered an s14 conversion.
I saw it as, somewhat of a solution, since I hate my headlights and entire front bumper.

I got over the conversion and decided to make the most of what I got, because at the time, I thought the conversion would make my car a "Frankenstein."

I then proceed with Plan B for my car, which turns out to be everyone's standard plan (ctr headlights, cf hood, oem fogs, lip kits, seats, etc)

Winter 2005, I realize if I do these mods, my car will look like every other civic:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1118689&page=1

A certain SOMEONE reminds me of my past plans (shows me a s14 kit, for $1500).

I am, for the next 2-weeks, haunted by my old plans.

I know I am going to get the whole,
"You're-bastardizing-your-Honda-by-putting-a-Nissan-front-end" and
"If-you-want-a-Nissan-why-don't-you-buy-one" and
"That's rice" etc etc

Maybe this is more of a rhettorical post... I have a feeling I'm not going to go thru with the conversion and I will just conform to the typical mods that everyone else does to their car. It's hard trying to explain this to a bunch of people that don't know me... I have personal friends that post here and no one's given me positive feedback, except one, but I think that's because he understands my "style" and has an idea of what kind of person I am.

I'm torn, because I want to keep my EM1 proper, but at the same time I want to set it apart from the rest. I know everyone says it a million times: "There's only so much you can do with a civic." "Everything's already been done."

But I tell myself that MAYBE everyone is against it, because the results they've seen were terrible and that MAYBE I CAN do it right. MAYBE I CAN pull it off and it will flow and look tight...........

I guess, my question is: What have you done to your ride to make it your own?

I've got other plans to personalize my car... but I just want to be able to look at it and be happy with the way it looks.

Regardless of what happens, I'm getting turbo. So at least I'll be happy with one aspect of my car.

Someone give me some feedback. Flame, talk ****, share personal experiences or try to relate.

all these ppl trying to jump off the bandwagon. just because a lot of ppl have ctr headlights, mugen knockoff lip or ctr lip and fogs doesn't mean its not hot. If you are going to spend all that moeny to be unique on that conversion which imo isn't very clean, i woul djust buy an integra and do a JDM front.... It would be a very nice clean converion and u would stick out... why not just dump some money into ur motor?

Like I said, I'm not ready to part with the car and regardless of WTF I do, I'm getting turbo. The conversion would just set me back and I'd have to wait on the turbo. Jumping off the bandwagon... jesus-C......
Ehh... I've pretty much let go of the conversion idea... I'm just trying to, I guess, reinforce it in myself so that I'll be cool with it and I won't think "What If dot dot dot"
By not doing the conversion, I know that I am saving myself the money and heartache, given the conversion wasn't done right and it turned out a disaster. But there's this thing in the back of my mind that tells me it would be sick if I could do it proper.

Anyways, it's hard to explain. Maybe I take the **** too personally. Trying to incorporate personal style with something like a car.

get a kit/lip kit that's clean and semi-rare. that'll set you apart and be easier on the pocket i think.

Do the JDM integra front on your coupe. I've seen it somewhere before, looked pretty good too. I'll try to find pics.

Glad to see you found your way to this thread for your ***** and giggles.

I had a lot more planned than what you listed there.

What makes you think I was going to keep my current wheels?

I had other things planned that I didn't mention.

I'm not doing it for props.

I don't like C-West.

If you could get pics, I would really appreciate it. I can never find pics....

If anyone can find pics of the UK civic front end conversion, could you post them?
I think the headlights are a lot slimmer, almost like the JDM Integra headlights...

Thank you for the thread :0)

Damm, that is exactly what I was *yikes* about...

The front end looks good, from the front end,
but profile shot is another story...

I wanted it all to flow, and thinking of lines and fenders and wheel wells and possibly shaving... just, stressed me out.

It's too questionable for me. I need visuals. It's too hard for me to imagine, never having seen the conversion done in person.
Can't even find many pics online....

I got big love for hatches. Every now and then, I wish I had one, but I think it looks better without the JDM front end.....

Those headlights are too slim and wide horizontally to compliment that hatch body style....

If you're doing major surgery on your car just to look different than cars on Honda-Tech, I think it's silly, but if you really like the way that front end looks on a Civic, then why even ask, just go for it.
I know if I like that way something looks on my project, and I want it, I do it.

I think this is the CL version of a civic from Canada. I could be wrong thought. IMO very nice and out of the ordinary!

I do believe it's called a domaniconversion as that's what the image URL/file is.
The cars over in Canada that "represent" the Civics are called Acura ELs I believe?
I have seen a couple real Acura ELs around in my area, and they do look spiffy.

If you do the s14 conversion and time comes to part with the car you might have a hard time selling it. But if the results are good you may never want to part with it anyway. Whatever you choose make sure you have fun with it.
