i have a 99 civic ex with a b18 swap stock alternator i came across a battery given to me from a friend that upgraded. was wondering if i could put it on my car with the stock alternator.

 

It wuold work for a short period b4 burning up. Why do you want two batteries in the first place?

 

Well it depends on battery strength etc. Continuity discharge rate on a alternator is usually around 14.5 to feed a 12VDC battery, in my opinion you wouldnt get as an effective recharge rate for the one as opposing for the 2 that you are using, and no im pretty sure the alternator won't burn up.

But lets see what else someone has to say.

Optima batterys! good for series, and also parallel connectivity.

 

you can do it.....but say buh-bye to alternator ina short while

 

just get a higher amp alt. Or run duals, like the car audio (professional) guys do

 

Get an isolator.
