School me on tuning hondas please
Ok so I'm coming from the vr6 world for the past few years and I've been interested in picking up a ek civic hatch for sometime. Some of the reasons, for 1, I've always wanted a light platform, unlike vw's which are tanks and take alot of $$$$ to get moving which I did. I don't know alot about the b16 or b18 (the two motors i'm interested getting) and would like to know some info about them such as Price, n/a reliability, FI reliability, Handling, Stock Weight, and just some ball park figures for a reliable turbo setup for street. Heres my car, and another picture of the creation I would like to look similar too. Also my car is for sale and trade if interested. Brettster5555@hotmail.com

Welcome to honda tech, the best thing i can say is please search.

all of your questions can be answered by taking time and doing research.
ill give you a shove in the right direction saying all B series engine are good candidates for boost and each has its own disadvantages and advantages, if I were to boost anything it would either be a D16z6 (cheap) or a LS engine (b18b)

NA reliability is second to no other car in the world - that's why honda's are so popular. You'll notice a huge difference in reliability from that of your VW.
B18b (142hp) is a cheap (~500) engine that is low compression and perfect for FI. The b18c (170hp, GSR engine) is far more expensive.

they do but the overinflated cost of buying a vtec engine off the bat can put alot more boost into a non vtec engine. therefore its faster
