Releiving AC system
Hey guys,
I know the AC sytem is under high pressure i need to remove all of the components, condenser, drier, lines everything. The car is a 1995 Civic ex. Is it absolutely nessecary to relieve the sytem with the proper tools or is there a slightly easier way around it. I mean can i remove it at certain spots and keep intact with refridgerant. Keep in mind i am just looking for a shortcut don't need to get flamed. This question is really for people who have done engine swaps and then run into AC probs when trying to remove. I know the refridgerant is 134a if it matter.

i took my a/c outta my 95 DX and i dont know of a way to get it out with the refridgerant still in the system cuz it comes out in parts not a a whole,i dont think there would be a way, if ur goin to take it out dont let the refridgerant out take it to a shop and have then do it. it crates a deadly exaust gas when sucked into a car. but other than that i took my ac out in bout an hour, and thats with it being done correclty and not bending the lines
the system itself comes out fairly easily/quickly. It is illegal to just purge the refrigerant into the atmosphere. People do it anyway tho. If the car is still in running condition, id take it to a shop and tell them just to suck the refrigerant out of it and not put any back in. They should have a big a/c machine to do it.
I've done a lot of AC work at school and they're not hard at all... I suggest you take it to a shop, AC refrigerant isn't OZONE friendly

Go huff it then.
Take it to pretty much any shop that will recharge your a/c system and they have the proper equipment for it (A/C reclaimer) and really shouldnt be a big deal.

**** it dude. just pop off the high pressure side on the pump. just a 10mm bolt. get it out and then stand back and pop it with wrench or something. its real loud and makes a big cloud. do it in your back yard. the only bad thing is there is oil in it and makes your engine bay a bit oily. fun none the less and easy
