Default Anyone used Whiteline Caster Shim Kit (KCA 301)?

I was wonder if anyone has opinions on these? I'd like to correct the bumpsteer I have from running w/ ITR springs and the ~.1 degree negative caster that engendered (seems bizzare that such a slight drop put me negative considering that there don't seem to be any overt physical differences in front suspension between a GSR and ITR).

Do you mean camber?

No, I mean caster. They go on the LCA to change the steering geometry where the radius arm bolts in, IIRC.

Is your caster out-of-spec? It shouldn't be unless you have damaged suspension parts. Stock specs I believe call for a slight amount of caster to help the steering return to center.

Yes, it is out of spec, but pretty much equal from side to side in that respect and has been since I lowered the car.

Caster should never be out-of-spec unless there are damaged suspension components, or if you got the upper control arms on the wrong sides. I'm pretty sure caster stays the same throughout the range of up-down suspension movement, which means it should not change whether it's lowered or not.

My car is lowered at least 3" and my caster is still in spec as far as I know.

UCA misplacement should INCREASE caster.

well okay, I don't know what the factory caster specs are, but if yours is out of spec, then you have damaged suspension components, or severely worn bushings.

Simply lowering an Integra does not throw the caster out-of-spec.

On both sides - evenly?

well I don't know.... my car is lowered 3+ inches and my caster is still in spec as far as I know.

You might want to ask if anybody has used the shims in the ITR or autocross/roadrace forum, or in the suspension forum.

FWIW, the kit DOES work, but caster added isn't as much as expected. A good shop can do the install in 1 hour and it is best to just remove the large bushing that stabilizes the back of the LCA (I'm drawing a blank on the name, but it's on w/ 3 bolts and the size of a fist). Make sure you have a 10 ton press too.
