On a whim, while talking to Apocalypse on AIM, I started looking around for GSX-Rs on Cycletrader. I want a 750, but found this 600 for what seems to be an unbeatable deal.

$3.5K? He doesn't give any info about the mileage or title. I emailed him, asking him what the deal was. If this bike is legit...I'm picking it up.

 

Smells fishy. There's no way to know for sure unless maybe you can visit his home/business and make sure everythings legit. But I hear that there are a lot of "too good to be true" scams out there. Ask him the reason for selling so cheap. That can tell you a lot too. Chances are.. if its legit, he would either still owe money on it (more than $3500) or he should have the pink slip on him.

 

i emailed him about it last week. its real fishy. he wouldnt let me come look at it he says hes in spain and he would ship the bike to me after i pay him with an escrow service. so i deff would think its a scam

That's too bad. That would be an amazing price for a bike like that.

its a scam, its a repost too, which is wierd, exact same bike that was in the add as before cept this guy was from germany....

LOL...I am on a laptop running Windows ME. AIM likes to crash now and again.

 

Windows ME is especially problematic with AOL products, not to mention a shitload of others. Ask me how I know. You should really upgrade.

Update: the Gixxer seller contacted me and told me to sign up for an escrow service, which also contacted me. He didnt mention where he was, just said "Don't worry I will take care of shipping taxes." Weird.

This deal seems also a bit too good to be true. He is in CT where my parents live, so I could conceivably look at the bike. I asked him about the title and he said it is clear. Does this also raise your collective eyebrows?

He wants 3100 for an 02 954RR w/1951 miles. I got a PM from a HT member, asking 4200 for one with some scratched plastics. 3100 for a mint one seems way too low.

Worse. It probably doesn't exist. The guy wrote me back saying, "If you want to close this deal we have to use an escrow service."

 

That's like a dirty word these days. Whatever happened to showing up, giving the guy a cashier's check and taking the bike? People suck.
