rattle/bearing noise... throw out bearing?? not sure...
so i've had this problem for a while now & i'm ready to fix it, but i gotta figure out what it is..
when i push down on the clutch to shift while already moving i hear a rattle.. kinda sounds like a bearing.. or like a skateboard wheel spinning really fast while not on the ground. i can also hear it really well when i am accelerating at full throttle then left off quickly.. sounds like a wheel spining while slowly slowing down. any suggestions?

i think ive got the same problem...its sounds like its in the exhaust i thought...when i was gettin my car serviced, they said something is probably in my exhaust and the only way to fix it is to get a new exhaust...damn acura/honda dealerships...dont know anything.
Idle in neutral with clutch engaged (that means NOT pressing the pedal). Noise? Rev engine without disengaging clutch. Noise?
Press down the pedal to disengage the clutch. Noise? Constant or does the noise coast to a stop? Try again with revving...
Depending on just how it behaves in each of these specific conditions, maybe it's the throw-out bearing. Maybe a tranny shaft bearing?

ah.. jim blake always there to help
i'll try those when i get off work.. i'm pretty sure it doesn't do it in neutral and it does coast to a stop. but it doesn't really sound like it's coming from the tranny side.. more from right under the pedal area.. & i'm 120% sure it's not an exhaust rattle.. but as i said, ill do those tests when i get home.

Have someone work the pedal while you listen at the engine compartment. Location of sounds can be very deceiving when you're sitting in the car.
It's starting to sound like a throw-out bearing, with the vibration being transmitted to the clutch pedal.

ok.. so the noise happens all the time while i'm driving.. if i shift into neutral and rev up it will make the noise, if i'm driving/shifting normal it will make the noise. it doesn't happen if i'm not moving and rev.
