Gsr guage cluster wiring problem ....
I bought my car like 6 months ago as a bare shell , it came with a gsr guage cluster already wired up in it ........... n e ways, i put a motor tranny ,blah blah blah... makeing a long story short , when i get into the throttle hard the tach starts jumping around and going crazy , so i thought it was the wiring of the guage cluster so i installed an aftermarket tach , but it does the same thing .... so then i thought it was the distbutor , and i change it and still the same thing... the motor revs normal its jsut the tach goes ape ****.... i dont know wtf ... if any one has any information it would help greatly . oh yeah and thank u for your time for reading all this
edit: the motor is a b20z with an ls dizzy and i/m.

You changed the whole distributor right? not just the cap? I know that sounds like a dumb question...
Also, check to make sure that the wires for your tach/tach signal wires are intact all the way to the ECU. use an ohm meter and move the wire around while measuring ti make sure you are not losing connectivity somewhere in the circuit.

yea i change the whole dizzy, i never even thought about checking the ecu wiring , that **** looks nasty , i got the car and it was wired for vtec really shitty (ie. butt connectors/black tape) , and the wiring looks kinda bad , do u know where i can get a wiring diagram telling me which is which ?
thanks

check your grounds by the thermastat, mine did the same thing, id cross over into vtec and it would hop up to 8k and sputter and ****, check your ground
There was a decent set of manuals etc. i nPDF form on http://www.hondahookup.com/manuals/.
You may be able to find a decent diagram there. Chiltons/Haynes manuals have a decent ecu diagram. I would rewire everything that has a butt connector. Solder everything and use decent shrink wrap. Make sure there is no corrosion in the dis. Make sure that whoever did the wiring didn't splice the wrong wires etc. I would use an ohmeter to figure out if the wires are terminating in the right place.
