I've heard it's possible to use Porshce calipers as well?? is this a difficult swap?? is it at all possible?? I'm talking about calipers from a Z06

 

wow i have never heard of a caliper swap like that? I don't know, sounds like it would takes lots of money and time to do it. Just get some new rotors and you feel the same stopping power.

 

ive heard of Porsche 911 turbo brakes on a VW corrado. but not on a civic.

 

With enough money of course it could be done.

I know NSX can be bolted on.

ive helped put porsche on a new gti but never any honda like he said if ya really want it and got the money it could be done buit expect to get flamed after

I dont know, i remember i saw a write up on it and i thought the guy had 4 lug. But the thing is i think it was 114.3 not the norm. 100.

 

ya they had some prelude/corrado/legend rotors redrilled for 4x100.

 

no, you dont need 5lug w/ nsx calipers...just spacers and redrilled 5lug rotors to 4x100

 

To answer the original question, yes, you can use any calipers on your car provided you can machine a caliper mounting bracket to hold them in the right location and also mount your rim around the increased diameter braking setup.

So if you have the ability to machine or CNC cut things, go ahead and do so.

I know NSX can be bolted on. </TD></TR></TABLE> I agree With enough money AND time anything can be done, **** man if you ****** wanted to you could drop a hummer motor in a civic (not like you would want the great (sarcastic) fuel economy and you would have to chop and extend the unit-body) I would just go NSX calipers, Chevy "Like a rock, it sinks to the bottom" Corvette's are good cars don't get me wrong, but no manufacturer can match the engineering genius of the Honda Motor Co. Not even Toyota. This is all my opinion so don't tell me I'm wrong because no one will win this debate with me, and there is no way I can convince anyone of this if they don't want to be convinced.

the honda engine is even more advanced than any nasa rocket. i mean if you compared the two and make a table of numbers the honda would be up here and any nasa rocket would be down here, i'll tell ya that all true.

but, as stated, mounting the calipers is as straight foward [tho not cheap] as Archidictus stated. also take note the banjo bolt will differ between the civic caliper and the zo6 caliper. in addition the master cylinder may not move enough fluid for those calipers so the pedal will have a longer travel. for how light these cars are, i have not seen any reason to upgrade beyond good quality rotors and pads in the stock sizes. my cars brakes easily out brake the tires and i am running sticky yokohamas.
