BETTER SOUND RACING MEDALLION OR APEXI NI?
I HAVE A 98 GSR AEM CAI AND LANDSPEED POWERCORE HEADER. EXHAUST IS NEXT AND WANT EITHER A RM OR N1. WHICH SOUNDS BETTER AND PUTS OUT MORE HP?
15.3 AT 92 W/ AEM CAI BEFORE HEADER
15.3 AT 92 W/ AEM CAI BEFORE HEADER
I have the N1 on my 2000 GSR with AEM CAI and DC 4-1 Headers and I have no complaints, sound or lack of hp. It's a deep throaty sound and with the added silencer, it still sounds deep but only under aggressive acceleration. I had the CAI and headers installed before my exhaust and when the exhaust was put on, I was really impressed by the hp gain of the N1.
ive heard both..the tanabe is like a screaming demon...the N1 is more like a deep roar. personally i like the n1 better.
I like the N1 myself, but I have heard the racing medallion. Both are loud, but the N1 sounds like a true race exhaust. The Tanabe RM is just a very deep rumbling exhaust. However, I think you will get more gains from an N1, because the Tanabe has a bottle neck in the piping. It will restrict some flow. You can't go wrong with either one though.

Anyways...I've never experienced the sound of an N1 - but the Tanabe RM sounds great!
Between the two...I'd just go for the cheapest
fron what i've heard theyre both good exhausts, i love my RM it by far the deepest exhaust I've ever heard, has no canny noise to it at all. I also had intake and header first and i think it freed up a lot of power, when i put the silencer in it it's almost like not having an exhaust at all, also in the performance aspect. My opinion is go for what you like the looks of best cause they'll both give you good HP and both sound good, so just go for what you'll be happy looking at.
