Default so i wanted something a little different

i had a little more time on my hands than usual this weeked so me and my friend painted my steelies. yes, if you can't tell im a total cheap ***, but thats cool, i guess thats why i drive a crx.

so we went ahead and lightly sanded the parts we wanted to paint, degreased and washed the steelies.

we then tapped all the parts we didn't want to paint

and after we painted we then pulled off all the tape and this is what we came out with

all in all i don't think it turned out too bad, cost about 5 bucks, and it will keep me satisfied till im done with my motor and can afford to do something with the exterior. let me know what you think

ahhaha

thats awesome

you should sand down your body and do another layer of flat black though to get rid of them stripes

other than that, they look ok.

I bought my 3rd crx flat black, and he had those wheels flat black also...I ended up changing them out for si blades (i like wider tires in snow)

god help you if you ever go to actually make the car look nice on the outside. the idiot that had my crx before me painted it flat black before i got it, that cheap **** is hell to sand off. it gums up the sandpaper and you have to constantly blow it out or replace it. it even sucks with a da.

go after that **** with a thicker paper on the DA

as soon as it is half way warm out (this spring) i'll be redoing the body work on my crx that i just got...

I hit this flat black / w the pressure washer and it just came off

imo a dark urethane primer looks 100x better.

Its gummed up because you need to wet sand it with 1500 grit to 2000 grit paper.and do it only hand soft
WTF wow you did have some time on your hands I think it came out pretty nice

yeah, the flat black is only temporary, hopefully this spring ill be able to do it properly. just in too much of a hurry and at the time just didn't care. probably going to bite me in the *** later.

but really and truely i think me and my friend spent about 2 hours on the wheels total. really was easier than i thought. we just got some wide tape and tore it into about 2 inch sections and did little by litte, once you get the inner part done you can use much larger sections of tape. probably about 10 min a wheel to tape them up, then laid towels on the tires just to protect from overspray. thanks for the comments so far.

actually the tires came with the car so im not exactly sure where you could get the same ones, but im sure someone in here knows of a good place where you could find some tires that would fit your steelies. have you tried vulcantire.com?
