Default Need help with tires/rims

Hello all. I have Tenzo R Mean 6 17" rims with 205/40/17 Azenis tires. The perforance is awful and everytime I hit a pothole I can feel my rims getting damaged. What size tires and rims do I need to prevent from getting flat tires/bent or cracked rims? Will 16" rims with 205/45/16 tires really help that much? Or should I go to 15" rims?

although with 16s you will still have to mind the potholes, they help a LOT. 15s are even better. with 17s you're just asking for it.

How thick of a sidewall can I get away with on 16's without rubbing?

hey, i live in crap-ville USA, aka Clermont (near orlando), and many of our roads are akin to concrete versions of offroad rally courses. i keep 15's on my car only, but if you live on okay streets and still have problems with bumps under 1" tall, try inflating your tires. if they're not inflated, you'll have a lot more problems with bending your wheels.

also how much air are you putting in the tire?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by aznballer &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">just get a tire wit a taller sidewall and u should b fine</TD></TR></TABLE>

bigger the sidewall, more cushion you will get.
50's feel fine for me.

the lower you go, the less cushion for the pushin.
