Removing side moldings off BB1/4

Removing side moldings off BB1/4
i want to remove the side moldings off my bb4 but i dont know if there are holes behind the plastic or not, or if till leave an ugly tanline / residue.
anyone done this before ? pointers? btw this is on a canadian prelude car if it makes a dif.
