Well, what do you guys think about this one. How much do you think it would cost to bring it back? If the restoration isnt going to be that much then I think I would buy it. It shouldn't cost me more than $2000. Tell me what you guys think....

That in my opion would be a great track car. Just through experience, its really hard to place a cap on budget when restoring a vehicle, especially with OE new parts. You may want to look at this as a hobby and just for fun, if you can keep it under a certain dollar than so be it, but it will take alot of time. Saving money = more time, spending money = more time. Good luck if you do proceed with the purchase and keep us updated.

Well at least you don't have much to do in the "completly gutting the interior" area

all you need is an engine, 1 seat, used integra LS bumpers and fenders, 4 lug susp and youve got yourself a nice ride.

this is exactly what i have debating on the past few days. i found a shell for like 1500 that looks like yours.
i can pick up suspension with wheels for like 1000-1500 at very most.
interior will be cheap, ive got a set of front ITR seats in my basement.
just need a door and all the front end pieces.

then the motor, which will be the most of the money.
got a GSR head in my garage too, so a bottom end, and tranny

all in all i think i can have a running R for like 5k total investment.

There are things you can scimp on like the exterior pieces and the interior pieces but if your going to bring her back, put the proper heart back in her too - B18C5 baby

buy it and re-build if its your hobby., and have the heart for it. if your just looking for a bargain and a R your better off searching the clasifieds for a good used one.

unless you've got insane hookups, that's gonna cost you a lot more than $2k, try maybe 10 or 12k. The motor alone would put you well past your $2k budget. Also, resale on it would be next to nothing as the buyer would be reluctant to buy a salvage title R no matter how restored it is. I think you'd have better luck restoring a gsr or ls. However, if you've got money to spare and you want to do it as a hobby, go for it.

id pick it up and bring it back to life!!! cost all depends on what parts you buy (new/used) and the labor. if you can do it by yourself then i would most def. pick it up. maybe this can be a little inspiration to you. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=941805 i built this car with all new acura oem parts. acura interior parts is not cheap.., gonna cost you bout 1700 for all new panels, dash, carpet, etc...

He's talking about the price of the shell for $2000! Not the over all price for the rebuild.
