JDM ITR Steering wheels?
2 Quick Questions:
How much do JDM ITR Steering wheels run these days (w/ and w/o airbags)?
How do you install it in an ITR without the airbag light going on? Buddy of mine just put one in his GSR last week and that light is annoying.

I got mine without the bag for $350. It was used but pretty much museum quality and several years ago.
My buddy installed it. All he did was remove Both the drivers wheel/bag AND passengers bag, Then removed the light on the dash that lit up the bag warning symbol.

Always remember to disconnect battery first. Unplug old oem SRS wheel and then
after install new JDM SRS, you have to plug in the SRS connector before reconnecting your battery or light will be on forever. Only Dealer can reset it or do a search on
"Resetting ECU".
I have the one without the airbag for sale. Excellent condition.
I will also include the OEM horn post so tha the horn works and also the resistor needed to trick the system into thinking the airbag is there - i.e. no ABS light!
PM if interested.

Nah, that's BS. The dealer isn't the only one that can reset the ABS conputer. The procedure is right in the Helms service manual. You just jumper the ABS service plug in a particular manner. Been a while since I did it but it wasn't hard.

All this talk of ABS is going to confuse the hell out of some people that are new to their cars. We are talking about the SRS system. SRS=Supplemental Restraint System. ABS= Antilock Brake System.

Yes, as long as you disconnect and re-connect the SRS system correctly while the battery is not connected you will be fine with no light.

You'd think it was kinda self explanatory. Especially if he was using a Helms manual.
Ahh well.

Come on people be nice... the 94-95 Integras use a different style connector than the newer tegs and JDM ITR steering wheels... There was a post awhile back about how someone used the plug from a newer airbag on an older car & bag, but I cannot find it at the moment.

ROFL.
My friend did it himself...i wouldnt doubt for a second that he messed up and hooked up the srs after pluggin the battery in.
BTW his car is a 99 USDM GSR brought to thailand and converted to RHD / JDM Front. Mines a 1998 USDM ITR also brought to thailand and converted to RHD / JDM Front. In case you were wonderin why, a *real* ITR costs around $45k (yeah) here...cause you have to go through a used or import car dealer to bring cars in from ANYWHERE and they nail you for tax (somethin like 250% tax on cars above 1500cc). But when people who work at embassys bring cars from their own country they pay NO TAX. Nice loophole

In Japan, it is trendy to be different to drive LHD in a RHD country. It is to show off as an import especially in European cars. That is why their highways toll booth have both openings.
yeah no joke. there's no way I'd buy a JDM ITR steering wheel for $1500
