has anyone attempted this on a 4th gen? any special preperation?

 

Yes, I have done it. In fact, there was just a thread about it like a week ago. Anyways, good luck with trying to match your paint because I tried to and failed miserably, the sideskirts still came out a different shade. I would suggest taking them to a body shop and having them do it all. Or, you can sand, prime, and paint them yourself, no special tips or anything. Good luck
