Default What should Vtec changeover for a gsr with skunk 2 manifold be set to on a chipped p28

Long title, because i have been searching for about 45 minutes and i can't find what i'm looking for, so i figure let me make the title obvious for anyone searching in the future.

I hate to ask this since i know its been said before 100's of times but i cant find it so here goes

i have a b18c1 with a b16 tranny in my 94 si hatch, it has I,H,E and the skunk 2 manifold. I am getting the p28 computer chipped for now until next year when i go turbo and uberdata. IN THE MEANTIME where should i set my vtec cross over at??

i know the stock gsr crosses at 4400 and secondaries open at 5800 (this is a fact please dont debate this this), since i have the p28 and the skunk2 manifold i no longer have secondaries to worry about.

i heard i will lose low end since i dont have any cams, so where should i raise vtec to i have heard 5000, 5200, 5500, and 5700 like the itr??????

also while we are at it, where does the stock gsr redline at? i am concerned because i think the chip has a 9500 rev limit

thanks for the help, i know tis been asked already so if you want ust link me to the right info, but i wasn't able to find it

put vtec aorund 5500-5700; without secondaries there is no need/gain in putting vtec so low.
i would put rev limit at stock 8100ish

thanks for the response, any specific reason as to why i should have vtec set so high??

also when i go turbo, i know i can take care of tuning with uberdata but will i need to mess with vtec again???

I have a '00 GSR running a P2T (Si) ecu, VTEC changeover is at 5500. Its fine, trust me, in fact its load as **** single VTEC changeover in a GSR. Have fun!

Vtec crossover at 5500-5800 is good because you have the single stage manifold now. Setting vtec too low and it will bog when you go into vtec. You should be able to feel vtec even on a properly tune engine. When i had my ls/vtec properly tune with type R cams, it pull very hard in vtec. You can definitely feel it.

i know its an old thread ...... buuuut 4,400 rpm's should be fine since someone would be still running the gsr cams?? only should up the vtec if running the c5 cams? just curious.
