Boots, revisited. Some gear pics inside.
I just got an awesome deal on boots. I went to my neighborhood dealer (Coleman Powersports in Falls Church) just to look, and see what everything felt like.
They had nothing in my size (my feet are a 7 or so), except one pair of Sidi boots in 6.5, all black. I tried them on just for the hell of it, and ended up buying them. I asked the accessories guy how low he could go, and he gave me a pretty nice price. I figured I could get a better price on kneedraggers or newenough, but I decided to support my local dealer for the extra few bucks.
I had not even bothered to check which model they were...the fit, price, and color were all right, so I just grabbed them. I figured they were a lower-range model, since the final price was around $180. So, I look on newenough/kneedraggers to see how much I could have saved...but I couldn't find them for less than $240.
Turns out I had gotten a pair of Vertebra 2s for $180.
I am stoked beyond belief.
I took a pic of the boots, then decided to snap a few more of my lids. Sorry for the crappy pics, I took them with my phone.
Boots:

Arai Signet GTR (Cathcart Replica):

Arai Quantum/f:

Arai Quantum/e (Doohan Replica):

I will say that the guys at Coleman have hooked me up on everything I have bought, from my bike to my helmets (2 for 1 sale at the end of last season) to these boots. If you NoVA guys are looking for a good place to shop, go there. I have spent a lot less in their store than I would have on a site like kneedraggers or newenough. They get
from me.

Good deal! Sidi Verts rock. I have a pair, and they're the nicest boots I've had the pleasure of sticking my feet into. My next pair will be Sidis, too, now that their top-o-the-line boot finally goes up to 13.
You have a huge head - your helmet is bigger than your dining table...!!

LOL...my head is normal size (I wear inbetween a M and L in Arais), but not the rest of me. I have size 7 feet and I have to wear women's bike gloves
The quality of the boots is outstanding, but the top of the left one has some uneven plastic that's digging into my shin. I need to file it down, or something.

I think it's perfect for non-track day riding. Its like the whole back protector thing.. I only wear it when I'm goin out for a "spirited" ride. I won't find myself wearing full race boots everyday. Especially if I have to walk around. So.. these scorpion type boots would be a great alternative to sneakers and regular boots. They're low profile for shifting and have ankle and heel support unlike regular boots. Yea.. they look funky. But not anymore so than space boots.

Ditto that.

LOL...my roommates keep calling me Napoleon Dynamite. Apparently someone in that movie wears those spaceman-style winter boots, year round.
