where is the shift solenoid located?
well, i recently encountered a problem with my tranny. i have a bad shift solenoid. does anyone know where on the tranny its located? i'm looking for shift solenoid 'a'. at least thats what code 7 told me it was. its on a 1992 honda accord dx. thanks automatic tranny by the way.
Not certain about Accord but A is more than likely the linear solenoid. On a Civic it's on top of the case....Search the net and download a helm maual ?
Front side of the trans housing, just to the left of the exhaust mainfold as you are standing in front of the car, below the dist. There are 2 solenoid sets, the top set is for lock up and the bottom set is the shift solenoid set. You can just jump power to the solenoid set and hear it click, and you can also remove them and clean out the screens under them.
