the splines are different, but they'll fit providing you use the 90-91 clutch assembly...

the tranny will bolt up, but the problem lies with the clutch assembly, just get 90+ d-series clutch and you can reuse the tranny, if you can go with a 92-5 Si/EX pressure plate and disc, they work with 90-1 trannies and have the most grip and last long.

Another thing. If you had a ZC tranny in there and have the intermediate shaft, you'll have to swap the (int. shaft side) output shaft seal on the trannies. The Si seal is smaller than the ZC one, so the ZC int shaft will not fit in, but with the bigger ZC seal, all will be good.

Okay, now I am gonna be getting an SI tranny for my ZC. Can I use any year SI tranny for it? Can I use a HB tranny, d series? Will I need new axles? What all will I need, right now I am running my DX ..

I have a 1990 CRX DX, so I have a 90 up clutch assembly, new too.

Match any D series trans with the same year/model pressure plate, clutch disk, flywheel combo. You can't use the intermediate shaft, equal length axles if you use any CRX Si tranny. The axles for a ZC trans are larger than the CRX ones, you would have to change out the diff to maintain use of the equal length axles.

Couple questions:

Are the 90 DX and SI clutch assemblies the same? That way I know if I need to chang my clutch if I get an SI tranny.

You need an intermediate shaft with the CRX SI tranny but not the HB SI tranny?

And if I get an HB Si tranny, my axles I have now will work?

My axles are bad, and need to be changed anyway, but incase I get some pretty soon, I can swap trannies easy still without new axles.. Im just a little confused on what will and wont work, want to make sure i have everything.

I dont know about the clutch assemblies....

you do not need an intemediate shaft w/ any of the si/dx/hf trannies....only the zc. that post above was a little confusing....

si/dx axles are the same and are interchangeable.

90-91 clutch assemblies are the same for both Civics and CRXs..
