Default how to set distributor to TDC?? *pics*

Ive got the motor at TDC (crank pulley and cyl 1 and 4 lined up TDC), and I have the cams at TDC as well. Where should the rotor be pointing in this pic? I always thought it was the bottom left but not positive.

Heres the firing order if looking at the dizzy from the passenger side of the car:
[3 4]
[1 2]

I should have the white contact portion of the rotor, in the pic below, pointing at #1 right?

well its either 1 or 4, im gonna go with 1.
I think 4 would be 180 degrees off.

[3 4]

is correct
and you can't put the distributor on wrong, so don't worry about that part

If your cams are at TDC compression stroke for cyl#1, then the rotor points towards the #1 plug wire on the cap.

It all makes sense if you think about it. The piston is at TDC, cams are on the base circles...that means it's on the compression stroke...exactly when the spark plug fires to transition into the power stroke.

I didn't see it mentioned, but the cam slot is offset so you can't install the distributor incorrectly............unless you force it on.
