A few new pics of the F4i
Actually I don't think I've posted any pics on here before, so here they are. Bought my black/red '04 F4i 10-17-04 and have been loving it since
Haven't really done anything to it except chop off the massive rear fender and put in some Sylvania Silverstars, that's about it. 11,500 miles so far and not a single problem yet!
These were the first pics, some from the night I bought it, then a couple weeks later too

Then these I just took a few weeks ago. Found a new photoshoot area and had to try it out!

Agreed that the banana seat doesn't look as nice as the dual RR-style one.
But they realized that they needed to differentiate the F4i and the RR, since the F4i looks almost as aggressive as the RR from some angles, and is almost as quick.

I think its more marketing than anything. F4i and RR were too similar. I dunno how Kawi does it with the 6R and 6RR. I know the 6RR is so they can compete in professional supersport classes but the 6R? Its not like they limit the production of the 6RR by THAT much.

Pretty much what I was saying. They need to give people a reason to buy one bike or the other - otherwise neither bike is going to capture its target audience.

I've wondered the same thing. It's not like the 636 is a competitor to the F4i - both Kawis are going up against 600RR/R6/GSXR. It's weird. My sense is that the ZX-6RR is just too extreme for daily driving. Slipper clutch, and the engine is obviously not as torquey as the 636.

They produce the minimum required number of 6RR's for it to be considered a "production bike" and be able to compete in the various racing organizations.

The 636 is meant to be the ultimate street bike. I've heard it a thousand times that "if you want the best 600 you should just get the 636." It can stomp any of the other 600's on the street. FYI It also has a slipper clutch for 2005.
The 6RR is only made so they can compete in 600cc racing. I doubt they make little if any money off the bike due to the limited production. If you go into a kawi dealership they hardly even mention the 6RR. 6RR is only there to win them AMA races.
I think it was a brilliant marketing technique and it clearly has brought Kawi right back into the thick of things.

Good eye!! That is indeed the BCC/FAU parking garage
I got some daytime pics too from up there too. I like the Silverstars! It's not a huge difference or something that totally stands out like HIDs do, but compared to stock bulbs they're definitely brighter and a much whiter shade of white. I park it next to my friends F4i with the stockies and you can see the difference right away. I do still plan on putting in HIDs sometime in the future though
Now what's all this trashtalk about my banana seat?!?!
LOL...J/K! I agree, it doesn't look quite as nice as the two piece, BUT when it comes to being comfy you can't beat it. When you ride alot like me (read: 11,500 mi in 3.75 months), and you're often on for several hours at a time (a nice sunday afternoon I'll blast through 2-3 tanks of gas), then trust me your *** will thank you for it! I've ridden my friends 600RR and it's like sitting on a piece of wood. Since the RR came out, they had to change 'something' on the F4i to make it different, since they're already similar as it is
