Default I'm impressed! Great forum!

As a new drag racer searching the internet for setup details, I'm impressed at the quality of information that everyone seems quite willing to exchange! Thanks to all for helping out a troller! This seems to be one of the most reliable sources of info that I've found since I've started the drag car project.

I'm active in SCCA roadracing but my bro and I decided to see what we could do in import drag racing after catching a couple of events recently. NOPI from the last two years has caused us to think about how fast we could go for a modest investment. We are using a turbo ABA 2.0 with a light chassis (86 gti) and lots of dyno time (pal with a dyno-aka sponsor). Some of my questions have been easily found through the search function on this site. Thanksagain!

Also, I appreciate the acceptance of the few german posters by the honda drivers that post up here. I think I'm going to go for the M&H DOT tires thanks to the forum!

Yeah its one of the best forums for FWD drag racing.
Turbo ABA huh? What kind of set up are you running?
My tech (tommyc83) is building a 83 rabbit w/ABA turbo drag car
which can be found at http://www.dubwerks.com
Should be a great year, lots of VWs stepping it up
Hope to see you a NOPI at gateway and BOTI at rt66

Welcome...I'm one of the confused ones here.
Couldnt make up my mind between 00 Honda or 95VW so I ended up with both.
The vw is the play toy since its payed for and you can stick any vw engine swap/hybrid in there... can't wait to get it to the track for nopi event in AZ next month.

I'm a X SCCA road racer as well. Used to race with the MARRS guys with my ITC VW's.

Now a drag racer...

I'd use IM to reply to some of the posts, but I'm not allowed yet-so here's some quick responses:

I'll check out the dubwerks site! We need to hook up for NOPI and BOTI *and* treffen!

Soch, I've been watching some of your posts on vwsport. We were going t o go all motor, but found we could turbo cheaper than the cams we needed for the 16v. When I'm allowed to IM, we'll chat more.

We crew for a GP rabbit in SCCA (the orange one that kissed the wall on lap 17 at the Runoffs), but the drag car is an engine/head development project.

No probs.... I been really busy at work and true...it's been much cheaper to turbo a dub than trying the all motor thing but hey i'm up to the challenge. See what Padillas car is up to in hp. That thing should hit way over 400whp soon. Kinda funny at the last dyno session the wheels kept doing peelouts/not getting good readouts. Not a fun car to ride in either. Lots of speed....and almost made peelout marks last time I rode in it...
