im selling my motorcycle and still doing payments on it and was wondering what else do i have to do besides paying it off. do i have to get something like a bill of sell from dmv. please help me out, first time selling a motorcycle.

 

depends on what you and the buyer want to do.

1) you (or buyer) pays off loan amount and wait for DMV to send you the title w/o the lien holder on it, after which you sign everything over like a normal sale.

2) you (or buyer) pays off loan and you obtain a notorized "fulfillment of lien" document which states that you paid off the loan. the buyer can use a copy of this, along with an "application for duplicate title" form filled out by both parties and transfer everything over himself at the DMV or AAA.

3) if he's going to finance as well, his lender should be able to take care of everything w/o you or him breakin a sweat.

 

Off the top of my head - The institution providing your loan will be the lien-holder, since they're actually the ones who own the bike until you've paid it off.

Have you tried checking the DMV website?
