I think I would never swap that motor, or any D-series motor in my crx. That's why I ripped the old one out for a B16.

Having had one-it does very well. Our Civic CX HB (sold) ran great with it. The only mod was a Thermal R&D Stealth exhaust. The car was a lot of fun even tho the gearbox was not like our CRX Si. It rev's very freely and is easy to maintain. If it fit in the CRX without too much work it would be a good choice for its simplicity. Then again the Y8 has more power. I run the CRX in H4 and ITA-so a swap is not possible in those classes. If you want a lot of power then a B swap or mini-me is the way to go. Just remember that the D motors are nearly bulletproof in stock form. They will run to redline and are forgiving within reason.
