Can I put a vtec head on a 92-96 prelude si
ok im looking to buy a 92-96 prelude....I want the 190hp vtec one but there jus a pain in the *** to find.....I can get an si real easy....my question is can I put a vtec head on a si and will this be just as fast as the prelude vtec
yes you can, but you have to get a bunch of other stuff to go along in order for it to work right. why not just turbocharge the SI? it will be faster too.
for real, do a search, look at some previous posts, this is like the third or fourth post I've been in in the past 2 days about this, but I really don't mind, lol....yes...buy an SI, and you can get a JDM h22(the Vtec engine japanese spec) also known as the h22a (the US spec is the h22a1, USDM Vtec) the h22a has 200 hp instead of 190 and you can usually get the engine and tranny for about $2900 to $3500, pretty good price, I know I've looked for USDM engines to drop in, and it's more $ anyway, so less money, more hp, good deal. Then you have to find someone to install it for a good deal. Try looking at http://www.prodigyworks.com for the engine itself, unless you already know someone, or email me and I'll point you to some good websites/better people on honda-tech to talk about this with
