valve spring question

i have the 84162 kit from crower. how do i tell which side is up or doesnt it matter? every single spring looks the same top to bottom and in color. any help is appreciated

The end with the coils closer together goes towards the head.If the coils are evenly spaced then it doesn't matter.

all the coils look the same so i think it really doesnt matter which way it goes in
